Ottawa, Ont. - CN and the Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA) announced today that Michelle Wie has accepted a sponsor’s exemption and will be at Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club this August 11-17 to compete for the $2.25 million (US) CN Canadian Women’s Open.
The CN Canadian Women’s Open will be one of only six LPGA Tour events that Wie is eligible to compete in via sponsor exemptions during the 2008 season. Her Canadian debut came at the 2007 CN Canadian Women’s Open at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club in Edmonton.

TORONTO, ON – With six projects on the go and a
couple more brewing in the hopper it's going to be a busy summer for Kevin
Holmes and Toronto-based MBTW Golf Design. Holmes, who has designed a couple of
the province's top public golf courses including Watson's Glen GC in Pickering
and Crimson Ridge GC in Sault Ste. Marie, has projects on the go in Brampton,
Tillsonburg, Newmarket, Bright's Grove, Wasaga Beach and Lisle. He has been the
lead architect for MBTW Golf Design for the past decade, a division of The MBTW
Group - a multi-disciplinary firm of landscape architects, urban designers and
planners, and golf course architects that has provided professional consulting
for over 25 years.

Baywood G&CC – Wasaga Beach - Two New Holes
A part of a
larger plan by the MBTW Group to make changes to Baywood's residential
community, MBTW Golf Design will build two new holes and driving range this
summer. To allow for changes within the subdivision two existing holes will be
taken out of play in 2009 and the new holes, a par- 3 and a par-5, will be
added.

Oakville, Ont. (RCGA) – The Canadian Golf Hall of Fame and the Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA) announced today that Mary Ann Lapointe (née Hayward) and Lorne Rubenstein have been named the 2007 inductees into the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame.
With their inductions, Lapointe and Rubenstein become the 60th and 61st
honoured members of the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame. Lapointe is the
Hall of Fame’s 18th female inductee while Rubenstein is only the second
media representative and first since Ralph H. Reville in 1986 to be
honoured for his contributions to the game of golf in Canada.
“The Canadian Golf Hall of Fame seeks to recognize excellence as
golfers, contributors and supporters of the game,” said Karen Hewson,
Director of the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame. “Mary Ann and Lorne and
have each amassed their own unique golf related legacies and are both
fine examples of what makes golf the game it is. Each has made
tremendous contributions to the game and it is only fitting that as
such, they are recognized for their accomplishments.”
